http://sewingfantaticdiary.blogspot.com/ about women that sew and how big the chances are that they win sewing contests. Carolyn has lots of good comments on the subject about being a larger women in a thin world and how come there is such a shortage in patterns for larger women. And i agree with her that a lot of time the patterns you find are just squares that tell you to gather the access fabric or ware a belt...
I especially liked this comment, " I understand that we are a "niche" market in a bad economic climate. But the last I checked, we still have to dress everyday like everyone else on the planet...it's the law!"
I like her thoughts on the subject. I spent a couple of hours yesterday taking a pattern that only went up to 44 (16) and making it one size larger so it would fit me. Its not always as easy as it sounds just because, you are not bigger in some areas because you are bigger around the waist so you have to try and try until you get it right....i´m a 44 or even smaller when it comes to my back but 46 or 48 when it comes to my front.....
