Good reading

http://www.blogforbettersewing.com/2010/02/thoughts-on-plus-size-sewing-from.html

Gertie have interview Carolyn from http://sewingfantaticdiary.blogspot.com/ about women that sew and how big the chances are that they win sewing contests. Carolyn has lots of good comments on the subject about being a larger women in a thin world and how come there is such a shortage in patterns for larger women. And i agree with her that a lot of time the patterns you find are just squares that tell you to gather the access fabric or ware a belt...

I especially liked this comment, " I understand that we are a "niche" market in a bad economic climate. But the last I checked, we still have to dress everyday like everyone else on the planet...it's the law!"

I like her thoughts on the subject. I spent a couple of hours yesterday taking a pattern that only went up to 44 (16) and making it one size larger so it would fit me. Its not always as easy as it sounds just because, you are not bigger in some areas because you are bigger around the waist so you have to try and try until you get it right....i´m a 44 or even smaller when it comes to my back but 46 or 48 when it comes to my front.....

:)

V Magazine

Men snälla!

Miss Kling has written an article in Expressen.se about V Magazine Special Journal this month about size. On page shows also two pictures from the newspaper on three beautiful girls in my eyes. Kling is really nothing I prefer to read but I got stuck for the plus-size word and then read peoples comments on the article.

Who is it that comments on Expressen.se?

One would think that it is Mr. and Mrs. Smith but if so I am afraid of the dark.

Here are two posts from expressen.se

"Posted by Inger123 36 January 27, 2010 at 15:19
But please! The girls in the pictures are not "normal" weight. What size can they be? 44 or 46? Guess that goes under the H & M collection BIB. Size 38 count as normal and has always done. They look really unhealthy.

Shall now the media brainwashing people that it is wonderful normal to be fat? "lovely curves? Get a grip. Far back in time, there was a sense in dragging around extra pounds when the food supply, in hard times was extremely limited, it was simply a way to survive. That is no longer the case, then get rid of this hypocrisy. It is not healthy and costs huge money each year in the form of hospital costs."

And so continues the comments, most frequently mentioned words like lazy, that if you are so big that these girls are so lazy that we do not do anything about it.

I can not even comment on what I think about this .... I believe all you get it.

Hugs from a lazy woman with one foot in the grave!
